DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY


The Department of Microbiology was established in 1995, which offers 3 years under graduate course and 2 years post graduate course along with M.Phil., Research Degree in Microbiology. The thrust areas of the Department include extracellular enzymes of microbial source, plant growth promoting rhizobacteria, Antibiotic producing bacteria, microbial degradation of xenobiotics, probiotics, bio-preservation of food stuffs and clinical microbiology. The Department offers courses on general microbiology, microbial diversity, agricultural microbiology, environmental microbiology, industrial microbiology, food microbiology, immunology, medical microbiology, microbial genetics, fermentation technology and plant pathology.
